UVM’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences seeks a dynamic individual to serve as Student Affairs Professional in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics. The position is responsible for academic advising, internship program administration, and serving as the class coordinator for the department. This position works closely with faculty, staff, and students, in a transdisciplinary department, and plays a vital role in UVM’s Food Systems Program. The Student Affairs Professional will be expected to develop, coordinate, and instruct in the Food Systems Program. Other essential duties include, but are not limited to, complex data management, recruitment and retention efforts, program marketing, and budget management. The position is for a .80 FTE, 12-month appointment.
The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree in a specialized or related field, and two to four years of related experience. The position also requires effective organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently. Proficiency with software applications used to support office is functions required. Knowledge of Food Systems, and or social or natural sciences is a must for teaching undergraduate classes, as well as strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
