DEPUTY FINANCE DIRECTOR/TOWN ACCOUNTANT

Supervises Town accounting operations: accounts payable, payroll, and cash management; maintenance of general ledger system and subsidiary ledgers; ensures financial transactions are recorded according to applicable laws, accounting standards and Town policies; oversees preparation for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Provides administrative support to the Director of Finance and acts in capacity of Director during times of unavailability or official absence.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field and have over 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting and finance, audit principles and practices; Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience; High School Degree/GED and 10 years of experience. Plus 2 years of supervisory experience in a finance department. Municipal accounting and finance preferred. A CPA, CPFO or CPFM designation is preferred.
