Not-for-Profit/Government Audit Manager / Certified Public Accountant

Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs, one of Florida’s top 25 public accounting firms, is seeking experienced, career-oriented Accountants for its expanding Assurance Services Team in the Tallahassee area. If you are a CPA and have 5+ years of current Audit experience in public accounting and would like to be part of an exciting growing firm, we would love to talk to you. Experience providing financial audit and consulting services to not-for-profit, quasi-government and governmental clients preferred. Experience should include evaluation of internal controls, financial statement preparation, direct client responsibilities and supervision of staff auditors. Some travel will be required. The successful candidate will be working with an exceptional team and receive ongoing training in a fast paced, technologically advanced office environment with a diverse group of clients.
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- CPA Certification is required
- Understand the rules, regulations and code of professional conduct of the AICPA, FICPA and the Florida Board of Accountancy
- Strong understanding of accounting and auditing standards applicable to not-for-profit and government entities
- Strong understanding of internal controls
- Experience with trade associations and/or charitable organizations
- Experience with local governments
- Experience working with Boards and Audit Committees – as an auditor and/or as a volunteer
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and manage teams on-site or in a remote environment
- Understand unrelated business income tax issues
- Able to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Adaptable and open to new technology solutions and processes to enhance engagement efficiencies
- Strong client communication and client service skills
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
- Community and/or volunteer leadership
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years’ recent and continuous experience in public accounting
Salary Range: Based on Experience.
