Job Description:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in all phases of the analysis, preparation, and control of the college budget. The work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures and involves investigating, analyzing, and making recommendations within the entire sphere of the comptroller office. The Financial Analyst will prepare budget reports that may be shared with the executive management of the college as well as the college Board of Trustees and County Legislature. Some responsibilities will include monitoring and control of departmental budgetary expenditures including approval of budget transfers, preparation of statistical and financial reports regarding fiscal year budgets and expenditures. This position works closely with college departments to ensure compliance between budgeted and actual activity. Reporting to the Assistant Comptroller there is latitude for exercise of independent judgment within established college budget policy.
Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Experience Required: A minimum of three years' experience in spreadsheet analysis and software use.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Community College or higher education experience.
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public.
- Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion
- Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
- Bilingual Skills.

Salary: Commensurate with experience $46,242-61,271 per annum. This is a Staff and Chair, Grade 40 position.
