2nd Shift - Custodian (Part-Time, On-Call)

Hours are on-call Monday – Friday and when requested to work. Hours are between 5:00 pm-1:30 am. Position will have job site reporting to multiple locations within Snohomish County.
Basic Responsibilities: Performs variety of janitorial and cleaning tasks. Successful candidate will have knowledge of commercial janitorial practices and methods, equipment, supplies and chemicals. Communicates effectively with customers and works well as team member.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of:
- Commercial janitorial practices and methods.
- Equipment, supplies and chemicals needed to perform janitorial work.
- Ability to:
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Frequently lift and carry equipment and items less than 50 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and carry equipment and items up to 65 lbs.
- Repetitively push and pull equipment or items (e.g., trash barrels, mop buckets, etc.)
- Repetitively perform arm and hand motions (e.g., cleaning mirrors, etc.)
- Drive to various District locations.
- Work as a member of a team.
- Understand and follow directions.
- Use the equipment and products of the trade.
- Work with minimum supervision.
Experience/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
License/Certification
- Valid Washington State Driver License
- Successful completion of a physical abilities test.
Essential Job Functions
- Sweeps and mops floors.
- Vacuums and spot cleans carpets as directed.
- Cleans desks, other furnishings, walls, windows, and office equipment.
- Empties trash and recycle materials.
- Restocks District paper goods in rest rooms, coffee and break areas.
- Cleans bathroom fixtures, building lights, and HVAC diffusers.
- Replaces bad light bulbs in all building light fixtures.
- Performs general clean-up of facilities and grounds.
Working Conditions
- Duties are performed in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors.
- The incumbent may be exposed to hazardous chemicals and, occasionally, heights exceeding twelve feet.
- Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time.
- Incumbent must have the ability to bend, climb a ladder, lift and move 65 pounds.
