Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering
Saint Martin’s University invites applicants for a full-time tenure track position at the assistant professor level. The candidate’s area of interest will preferably be in structural and/or geotechnical engineering.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in civil engineering or a closely related field, and be able to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate civil engineering classes, develop advanced courses in areas of expertise, collaborate with colleagues, and initiate and run an applied research program. Candidates with teaching experience, including laboratories, are preferred. Candidates must be willing and able to support the Catholic, Benedictine tradition of Saint Martin's.
The Hal and Inge Marcus School of Engineering at Saint Martin's University offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs in mechanical and civil engineering. It also offers computer science and graduate programs in civil engineering, mechanical engineering and engineering management and computer science. The School recently moved into Cebula Hall, the highly rated LEED certified building and a new laboratory building completed in 2016. A recent major Engineering Initiative has led to new facilities, a larger faculty, increased enrollments, and exciting opportunities for enhancing programs.
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, and comes with a standard benefits package.
