Procurement Assistant
Position Summary:
The Procurement Assistant is responsible for performing administrative clerical duties related to supporting procurement activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain Procurement Services ticketing system in filtering and assigning procurement activities to Procurement staff
- Review requisitions for completeness and accuracy; follow up on discrepancies with initiating department
- Perform general clerical duties such as maintaining general files, typing, data entry, opening mail and completing and processing standard purchasing forms
- Respond to inquiries from university community regarding requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, p-card, travel and invoices
- Assists Procurement staff with resolution of PO / invoice disputes
- Assists in the processing and manual input of invoices into financial systems
- Assists in the weekly check runs
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in procurement for an institution of higher education
- Experience with Banner, the university’s financial management information system
- Experience with AP compliance requirements (W-9, 1099)
- Experience with AP processes
