SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing accurate, timely information that drives business decisions and monitors compliance. This position works collaboratively with the Finance team, supporting Payroll, Accounts Payable, the Grants Manager, and the Finance Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Assist in preparation of grant budgets, annual budgets, and forecasting.
- Prepare financial reports and ad hoc reports for review and decision making by the Leadership team.
- Provide insight into budget variances and strategies for cost savings and utilization of funds.
- Update and implement cost allocation policies and cost distribution formulas.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and key performance indicators.
2. Accounting:
- Contribute to the monthly and annual close by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Assist with preparation of schedules and compile requested documents for financial audits.
- Manage fixed assets
3. Vendor Management
- Ensure compliance with Vendor Management Policy, including preparing Request for Proposals, analysis of proposals, and vendor selection.
- Maintain vendors, including setting up new vendors and inactivating vendors.
- Support annual 1099 reporting.
4. Support Other Finance Functions
- Prepare and deposit cash and checks received weekly.
- Back up the Payroll Specialist, Behavioral Health Billing Specialist, and the Grants Accountant duties
- Carry out administrative tasks
- Maintain documents and records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and general accounting functions including reporting requirements and procedures related to federal, state and other related grants, cost accounting, government accounting and auditing.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and administration, financial record keeping and reporting.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing and accounting software (preferably Abila MIP)
- Strong work ethic with a defined sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability for deadlines.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, team building skills
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity to and respect for diverse cultures.
- Medical billing and coding, including experience with Medicare guidelines, a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Adequate visual skill and manual dexterity for computer and other data-related tasks
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Able to lift and move file boxes
