SPECIAL ASSISTANT, OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT - Open Until Filled
The President of the Nation seeks a Special Assistant to work on the most sensitive, urgent, and important issues featuring the Nation's citizens. Reporting directly to the President, the Special Assistant will perform duties as assigned by the President, so a passion for learning new things, tackling diverse challenges, and working with a broad array of people and communities is a necessity. The following are the major attributes and experience desired:1. The Special Assistant's role will include both accompanying and assisting the President in the execution of her duties, as well as performing independent research and participating on the President's behalf in important executive-level meetings, discussions, and negotiations. 2. Discretion, excellent people and communication skills, good judgment, a tireless work ethic, strong organizational skills, and the ability to self-start are required. The Special Assistant shall at times be required to collaborate and assist the executive office, Quinault Business Committee, QIN Office of Attorney General, QIN Chief Operating Officer in completing various tasks as directed by the President. 3. Ultimately, the President seeks a trustworthy and reliable Special Assistant who will provide effective help in serving the Nation's citizens, solving complicated problems, and creating opportunities for the Quinault Indian Nation to thrive.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in public policy, natural resources, political science, social work, Native American studies, business administration or other related field(s). Work experience may be substituted for the educational requirements. Three letters of recommendation must accompany job application. One professional writing sample must accompany the job application.Please note the position will be filled under an employment contract and will expire April 30, 2021. Possibility of renewal (3 year status) or continued renewal (3 year increments) based on the needs of the office. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Quinault Preference applies.
