Police Detective

Quinault Nation Police Department seeks to fill (1) Detective Position. This is a law enforcement position, and applicants are required to have the minimum qualifications required by the Quinault Indian Nation. Duties include Enforcement of QIN Law, Community oriented policing, investigations, and arrests. Responsible for the performance of patrol duties and the investigation of serious, violent, and secual offenses. Coordinante and analyse serious vilent crime and secual offense investigations and information for QIN police department and in conjunction and/or coordination with other law enforcement agencies. Consult with law enforcement agencies on serious violent crime and secual offense investigation procedues. Coordinate and/or monit multi-jurisdictional serious violent crime and sexual offense information; provide training to QIN law enforcement personnel in serious, violent, and sexual offense investigation and information collection. Investigate complaints of disturbance, accidents, stolen property, or criminal activity; appear in court; present evidence and testify against persons accused of crime. Associate degree in police science, criminal justice, publin or business administration or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the required education. 

Ability to pass background check, drug, psychological, and polygraph tests if required. Must have no prior felony or domestic violence convictions, and no history of substance abuse. Must have completed a state of Federal certified law enforcement academy and been employed as a sworn law enforcement officer during the previous twelve (12) months. Must have a valid WA state driver's license or be eligible to obtain one and have a good driving record. Applicants must be in good physical condition, able to parol by foot and/or vehicle as needed.
