Activity Coordinator 

This individual must have a friendly, professional, and energetic personality and have a passion for improving the lives of others. This is an exciting opportunity to provide a variety of fun and meaningful activities and fitness services for the residents of our active, independent living retirement community. The successful candidate for this position must possess a passion and ability for creating, developing and implementing a full event, activity and fitness program to satisfy the mind, body and spirit of our residents. Prior experience in event and activity planning are preferred. Additional education/experience with older adults is also preferred but not required.

 

AM/PM Cooks

 This position prepares nutritious, appetizing, and attractive meals, while working as a team with other culinary services members to provide smooth, efficient and safe operation of the kitchen area.

 This individual must have a friendly, professional, and energetic personality and have a passion for improving the lives of others.  The successful candidate for this position must be 18 years of age and have two years’ experience in institutional or full service restaurant cooking.  This individual will have knowledge of and ability to conform to food service sanitation practices and will maintain food handlers permit as necessary to fulfill state regulations.  The successful candidate for this position will communicate in a clear and concise manner with our residents.  This individual will possess organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills.  In addition, the successful candidate will work well under time constraints and be able to meet deadlines. 


 Bus Driver (CDL with passenger endorsements)

 This position provides transportation services to residents of facility in timely and orderly fashion.  Must have a CDL.

 This individual must have a friendly, professional, and energetic personality and have a passion for improving the lives of others.  The successful candidate for this position must be 21 years of age and have ability to drive the facility bus or other vehicles, meeting all federal, state, and provincial driving regulations and requirements.  This individual will have ability to care for the facility bus or other vehicles, ensuring routine maintenance is being done (checking tires, rotation of tires, oil changes, brakes are in good order).  The successful candidate for this position will communicate in a clear and concise manner with our residents.  This individual will possess organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills.  In addition, the successful candidate will work well under time constraints and be able to meet deadlines.

 

Kitchen Support/Dishwasher

 This position will prepare, wash and store dishes as well as help serve meals and clear dishes at residents’ tables.

 This individual must have a friendly, professional, and energetic personality and have a passion for improving the lives of others.  The successful candidate for this position will have a general knowledge of cleaning and sanitation and will maintain food handlers permit as necessary to fulfill state regulations.  The successful candidate for this position will communicate in a clear and concise manner with our residents.  This individual will possess organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills.  In addition, the successful candidate will work well under time constraints and be able to meet deadlines.  We offer competitive compensation and a great work environment.

  

Housekeeper/Server

 This position cleans resident apartments and community common areas as well as serves meals to residents’ table in a courteous and friendly manner.

 This individual must have a friendly, professional, and energetic personality and have a passion for improving the lives of others.  The successful candidate for this position must be 18 years of age and have ability to perform housekeeping duties while following housekeeping sanitation standards and current guidelines.  In addition, this individual will have ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.  The successful candidate for this position will communicate in a clear and concise manner with our residents.  Prior experience is preferred.  This individual will work well in a team setting, possess organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills.

 

 Live-In Assistant Management Couple

 This position demonstrates the managerial skills necessary to achieve a positive atmosphere and lifestyle for our residents; ensures a productive, safe, and professional work environment; inspires and fosters a collaborative management team; promotes a positive community image that will ensure 100% occupancy; and operate a fiscally sound and efficient organization.

 The successful candidate couple must have a passion for serving older adults with proven customer service and strong management/supervisory skills to assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of our retirement community.  The successful candidate couple for this position must be 21 years of age and have three years of prior management experience in areas such as operational and financial experience in managing employees, customer service, purchasing, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.

  

Maintenance Person

 Our residents deserve the best so we are seeking people who understand hospitality, integrity and compassion.  You must have a passion for seniors as well and the capability to maintain the building and grounds.  The successful candidate for this position must be 21 years of age and have two years of prior maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and dry wall repairs.

 

Server

 The position serves meals to residents’ tables following Hawthorn Retirement procedures in a courteous and friendly manner.

 This individual must have a friendly, professional, and energetic personality and have a passion for improving the lives of others.  The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.  This individual will have a general knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices will meet state health-related and age-related requirements.  The successful candidate for this position will communicate in a clear and concise manner with our residents.  This individual will possess organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills.  In addition, the successful candidate will work well under time constraints and be able to meet deadlines. 

 

 Sous Chef

 This position prepares nutritious, appetizing, and attractive meals, while working as a team with other culinary services members to provide smooth, efficient and safe operation of the kitchen area.
