Operations Director

Grays Harbor Public Utility District is seeking a full-time Operations Director to oversee Line, Operations Support, Contract Construction, System Control, and Fleet Departments. Duties and tasks include performance management and setting strategic direction for supervisors and superintendents, employee hiring and development, work planning, collaborative problem solving and coordination with other departments, managing change, and budgeting, all in support of the safe, reliable delivery of high value utility services by professionally constructing, operating and maintaining the District’s systems.

Required qualifications include ten (10) years of directly related electric utility experience, including five (5) years in a leadership/supervisory capacity; or other closely related experience.  Preferred qualifications include Journey-level certification; Bachelor’s degree in construction science or engineering or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience; experience supervising union employees and interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements; and experience managing utility operations functions.
