POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Simulation Technology Coordinator to join our team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Supervises simulation technicians (Per Diem) as appropriate. With the help of the Simulation Technology Specialist, develop guidelines and processes to streamline and train Simulation technicians on simulation setup, breakdown, and troubleshooting. Assists with the scheduling of per diem simulation technicians. Assigns tasks, and evaluates performance as required.
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of per diem simulation technicians.
  • Responsible for the preparation of documents and set up of boxes and supplies for simulations as assigned. Assists with the inventory management, restocking, and materials and the supplies procurement.
  • Works with faculty and staff to deliver clinical experiences in a simulated environment. Assists with the operations of the simulators during training sessions.
  • Provides specialized technical support and maintenance for computer-based systems and their components, including AV systems, vital monitors, medical equipment, and simulation equipment.
  • Audits, tests and ensures all equipment and systems run efficiently according to current specification requirements, keeping apprised of periodic product information releases and updates.
  • Coordinates the implementation of assigned Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) and other simulation events such as tours, orientation, and simulation activities as assigned.
  • Coordinates logistical assistance for set up and breakdowns of simulation activities. Troubleshoots and performs regular preventative maintenance of human patient simulators, task-trainers, and associated medical devices.
  • Sets up the simulation room or simulation center in preparation for simulation scenarios, including equipment, simulators, IT and video/audio; performs all necessary tests to verify system is working appropriately.
  • Demonstrates and teaches technical aspects of operating simulators to faculty members and support staff. Instructs users in the use of system and networking technology through documentation, and other educational methods. Develops and maintains technical manuals documenting hardware and software setup and describing process steps of different systems for referencing and training.
  • Process equipment loan requests and other simulation request forms data and reports.
  • Collects and tracks simulation data and generates reports as necessary.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned by supervisor. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree.
