Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2
(Working title: Science Support Center Manager)

Position Purpose
The primary responsibility of this position is to support the laboratory science curriculum through the
management of the Science Support Center (SSC). Under the direction of the Science Operations Manager, this
position hires, trains, and supervises student support staff, maintains inventories of equipment, chemicals, and
consumables, manages an operating budget, purchases equipment and supplies, performs billing, ensures
equipment is maintained in safe operating condition, and provides support for laboratory and field activities for
academic programs, individual projects, and faculty research. The incumbent also works to make the SSC a
central source of scientific support and information for our students and faculty.
This is a half-time (20 hour per week), overtime eligible position on the Olympia Campus of The Evergreen State College.
Salary and Benefits: $1,740 – $2,336 per month of half-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life, and disability insurance package; and a tuition waiver program.
